An award-winning dark comedy about two inept Irish criminals who dream of pulling off a heist far beyond their minimal abilities.
Ambition, folly, violence, murder, revenge and… redemption? Friends Help You Move is a comedy thriller in one act, written and directed by John Ward.
Since winning Best Original Script at FEATS 2024 in Antwerp, the play has toured widely โ placing second at the National Drama Festival (Albany Theatre, Coventry) and playing several runs across Geneva, for the Geneva English Drama Society, the Fête du Théâtre and the Geneva Literary Aid Society โ before arriving in Camden.
Three actors, a make-up-artist-slash-tech, a director-slash-lighting-designer, and a whole lot of gaffer tape.
Writer and director of Friends Help You Move and a founding member of Yeah Yeah Productions. A playwright with a taste for sharp dialogue and morally dubious characters, his one-act gangster comedy took Best Original Script at FEATS 2024 and is published by Lazy Bee Scripts โ and he steps into the fray on stage too, equally at home behind the pen and under the lights.
Will is a British actor, working between London and Geneva. Known for grounded, psychologically rich performances in both drama and dark comedy, he is the lead in Shadow of Lies and recently shot Ward Six for Burdock Lodge Productions; his stage roles include Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing and Jerry in Betrayal. A founding member of Yeah Yeah Productions, he's delighted to bring the show home to London.
A multi-award-winning actor and improviser (FEATS 2017 & 2024, NDFA 2024) and a founding member of Yeah Yeah Productions, who first trod the boards in a basement at University College Dublin. In Geneva he performs with the Renegade Saints and co-created the improv shows Winging It, Polyglots and Primetime. Offstage he fronts indie band The Gods They Made, whose 2024 debut Breathe In took them to the main stage of Geneva's Fรชte de la Musique โ all somehow alongside a Master's in Computer Science.
The fourth member of the touring team โ make-up artist and technical operator rolled into one. She keeps the cast looking suitably roughed-up and the show running without a hitch. The company doesn't go anywhere without her.
